The process of designing yarns and knitwear starts with whole fleeces that I buy from local farmers. At times I hand spin the wool directly from the bag of raw wool and then wash the hand spun yarn. At other times I send the bags of alpaca, angora rabbit, wool or mohair to local fiber mills to be processed into roving(washed and combed fiber) or yarn. Additional steps include dying the fibers with artisan and natural dyes either in the wool or after yarn is made. Often the yarns are hand painted.
